In the most recent PNP draw results, candidates are nominated from Ontario, British Columbia, and New Brunswick.
This week, the Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP) received nominations from three Canadian provinces.
Provincial governments put up individuals that have the best chance of settling economically and integrating into the province's employment force.
Except for Quebec and Nunavut, most provinces and territories conduct PNP draws that prioritize applicants with particular professions, such as technology, healthcare, and skilled crafts. This makes it possible for governments to focus on hiring applicants who can meet local labour needs.
Similar to this, the federal government will shortly start hosting Express Entry draws in upcoming category-based selection draws for particular occupations and French language proficiency through Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) will automatically award the PNP candidate with an additional 600 points if they are in the Express Entry pool and get a provincial nomination. They are much more likely to receive an invitation to apply as a result of this.
Candidates for economic immigration who are not part of Express Entry may still submit an application for provincial nomination. This could improve their total application for permanent residence.
Being nominated is not the same as being granted permanent resident status. Even if they have received a provincial nomination, candidates must still apply to the IRCC independently. This is due to the fact that both the provincial and federal governments share responsibility for immigration.
Ontario:
On June 20, Ontario issued an invitation to 1,000 applicants through three draws for the Employer Job Offer stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Programme (OINP). Candidates who had employment offers in the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream were drawn first. The province welcomed 426 applicants who had worked in a skilled trade and had scores of 36 or higher.
318 foreign workers with employment offers in the healthcare industry were eligible for the second draw. Candidates needed at least a 33 to be eligible for this draw.
The Employer’s Job Offer: The In-Demand Skills stream's final draw attracted 256 applicants in a general draw. Candidates needed a score of at least 26.
British Columbia
For applicants to the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams of the BC PNP (including Express Entry applicants), British Columbia staged four targeted drawings on June 20. Over 144 candidates were invited in all.
A total of 107 individuals with IT employment were the focus of the biggest draw. The Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) had a minimum cut-off score of 90. Similar to an Express Entry CRS score, SIRS is only used for BC PNP applicants.
The final three drawings included a focus on less than five candidates in other priority occupations, 19 candidates in healthcare occupations, and 18 early childhood educators and helpers. Each draw requires candidates to have a minimum score of 60.
New Brunswick
The province, it invited 93 Express Entry candidates in three streams over May.
- 21 in the NB Employment connection
- 10 in the NB Student Connection
- 62 in the Occupations in Demand connection
This year, New Brunswick has submitted 509 applicants for provincial Express Entry. With 186 candidates invited, March 2023 was the busiest month so far.
This may have been due to the fact that March was also the busiest month for federal Express Entry drawings, during which 21,667 applicants from throughout Canada were invited.
