Manitoba and Prince Edward Island hold draws for Provincial Nomination
Both provinces have issued over 100 ITAs in their most recent draws.
This week, Manitoba and Prince Edward Island issued invitations to candidates to apply through Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). With the exception of Quebec and Nunavut, the majority of Canadian provinces and territories operate their own PNPs. Interested candidates may be invited to apply for provincial nomination through these programmes. Receiving a provincial nomination can help you obtain permanent residence.
Quebec's immigration programmes are administered by the province and are distinct from those of Canada. Quebec is the only province in which all economic class immigrants are subject to control.
The PNP is responsible for 105,000 PR admissions each year. It started in 1998, and the annual number of PNP admissions has steadily increased since then. Both the federal and provincial governments see it as a useful tool for promoting economic development outside of urban areas.
